video output at startup is flipping between cards in SLI

So sometimes on boot the monitor gets NO signal and I have to move the DVI cable to the other card in SLI or vice versa to get a signal.

Any ideas what's going on!

Also sometimes the BIOS splash screen will show, then nothing until desktop is loaded!

its driving me nuts!
