Video Playback in Vista

Anyone else having problems with videos in Vista? The playback is really poor - stutters quite a lot. Doesn't matter which program I use either, Media Player, VLC Player etc - all the same. Funnily enough streamed videos on YouTube etc seem fine. I've tried disabling the soundcard and it still stutters so it can't be the dodgy soundblaster support. I'm running:

Core2Duo 6600
4gig DDR2
8800GTS 640meg
Audigy 2

I've noticed the videos seem to run fine the second time you play them - which is a bit odd. :confused:

Could be Forceware issues, AFAIK 8800 drivers are still not 100%.

Which drivers are you using?

The ones released yesterday - I've tried 2 or 3 though since installing Vista and it seems to be the same problem on all of them

Everything was fine with XP

Just to say that I've sorted it! I disabled 'Enable write caching on the disk' in device manager and no more stuttering!
