Video playback problem.

When i download a video off google they play fine in the divx player but they don't work in other players, the videos use the open divx 4 codec but the thing is the divx 6 codec should take care of that as it does for most stuff like xvid but it just doesn't seem to want to work in anything else, can anyone help please?

I don't like codec packs and have what i need already but there's something up with either google videos or the divx codec, anyone know?
