Video VOB files into AVi files.

Howzit all,

I'm trying to convert some recorded home video footage from VOB files into one, smaller AVi file or even a little bigger MPEG file?

Is this at all possible, if so, how exacly?

Winavi will convert these for you, there is also an app called Fairuse.

CloneDVD Mobile will convert DVD to various formats like DivX and even 3gp for some mobile phones. I know that's not exactly what you were asking but thought it might be of interest also.

The best way to convert vob to avi,divx etc...

Virtual dub, you can use it to transcode vob mpeg2 files to h.264, xvid or nearly any other format.

None of those programs do what I want them to do guys....

I need to convert several VOB files at once into one AVI/Mpeg file format.

Do I have to join the VObs first, then convert them?

I recall a program called ISObuster which rips the vob files into an mpeg.

I have ISO Buster 1.9. Didn't know that it could do that?

With AutoGK you can place the files in a queue and just leave it, very easy to use. Doing more than one file at once would heavily stress the CPU, if you have dual core then you could try assigning one conversion job to each core. If you want all the files as one, i think Virtual Dub can merge them, then i would use AutoGK.

Will give it another shot when I get home. Although I don't have a dual core cpu, I do have a A64 bit. So won't be too stressful on the machine. I will try both programs again.

Flask does this!

you need the plugin or use version 0594 you click the first vob and the others follow in sync!

easyrider does not misinform

Okay managed to covert the video. But now the first part of the video has sound, but the actual movie doesn't have any sound. Any ideas guys?
