Hi all,
I need a few recommedations from ya'll. I bought my major stuff to get the PC to work a few weeks ago and now it's time for the rest. I have now:
Cpu:E6400
Mobo:Gigabyte DS4
Ram: 1gb corsair twinx 5400c4
Videocard: borrowd from a friend: pcx nvidia 5750

Now it's time for the upgrade,
2gb ram, better hsf and videocard. I'm sure about the rest but not about the videocard. Should I buy a DX9 card while DX10 is around the cornor, or should I buy a cheaper card and upgrade to DX10 ASAP? Or should I buy a good dx9 card (thinking about x850xt for the cheaper card and 7900GS/GTO a good one, or something in that price range) Any help would be appriciated! I live in Europe so prices are mostly expensiver...)

if you think your going to have the money for a 8800gt or 8800gtx then it would be wise to wait just a month for it to come out.

Its dx10 and unified (could also be semi watercooled if you have the gtx :D)

cheap card to get you buy on , then upgrade once ati and nvidia has there card on the market , thats what i will do in a month or so , 7600 gt will get me by till i get dx10 ..... :)

Just get a high end DX9 card now if you can afford it, it will last well over a year+, no point buying a G80 when nothing is using DX10 yet, and wont be for about a year+, G80 is coming out in November, yet you cant use DX10 till about bloody Feb as you have to get Vista, over 3 months away!!!!, and that does not come out till about then, so why not just get a high end DX9 card now, and happily have it cutting through everthing in its wake for about a year, then when something in DX10 comes along that doesnt look like DX9, then get a DX10 card then, which is about a year away as said, and by then it will not be G80/R600 as they will be over a year old, and have been passed by a load of new, better, faster DX10 cards, and the G80 IS NOT UNIFIED.

Okay, but won't a x850xt play all games on high/medium 'till next year? It's a hell of a lot cheaper then a 7900GTO, however, i can efford it.... Also, would there be a ATi side card like even to the 7900GS/GTO? Because if i buy a high end card, I want to have AA+HDR... and my board (gigabyte DS4) is crossfire capable...
