Vietnam

It is easy out there in these countries I spoofed on Tinder ages before my trip :)

Yep, I was in BKK for 3 days before Nam, and that is worse. It's extremely easy, I had some very hot girls willing to come to my hotel that night.

Anyone who has to pay for it there is mental.

Ye Thailand is the best for that I would say Vietnam more tough but I like the look of Vietnam girls they have mix of features so many stunning women about.

My Brother has lived in Ho Chi for getting on 10 years, he's a headteacher and loves the place - even married a local girl.

Some things of interest that you could do:

Cu Chi Tunnels
Mekong Delta
Museum
Temples
Opera house and other interesting architecture

Watch where you eat out, Bui Vien street is a little bit more expensive than other places but good at night.

Crossing the road....just go for it and admire the telephone cable mess overhead

Hope you weren't planning on doing any surfing while you were there mate. I've been reliably informed that Charlie don't surf. :(

EDIT: Didn't see the date on the Op... oh well!

Agreed! Although I done it with Siagon Adventures as a night tour. Loved every minute of it on the motorbike and the guys were great. Do it really early in your trip and it will give you a good sense of what local food you will enjoy. The same company done a small (max 10 people) tour of the tunnels too. Try to get there early to avoid big groups.

Max you need in Ho Chi Minh is 3 days though. Da Lat is good for adventure but otherwise there is nothing there. We really liked Hoi An. The suit tailoring is a waste of time though. They use templates that are different styles depending on who is making them in the factory!

  • Only ever get into a Vinasun (white with green and red stripe) or Mai Linh (green and white) taxi. Do not get into any other taxi, metered or not or you are likely to be ripped off.
  • 90% of places won't take card. Cash is king here so withdraw at any of the many ATMs. Always check the ATM to make sure it hasn't been tampered with and check around yourself before taking out cash to make sure there isn't anyone dodgy around. Expect a fee of between 20k to 50k VND per cash withdrawal. If it is more than 50k, move on to a different ATM. I found that taking out 2m VND at a time was most effective.
  • Pay in VND at all times. USD may be asked for but the official currency is VND and you will get the best exchange rate that way.

Yeah thats it, did you scuff your feet to squeak the sand? Its immensely satisfying :D

I see walked up and down it and had a swim that about it but you seem to have been at a better time then me the sea wasnt as crystal clear as your picture and the sand not as white.

As part of Part 2 of Vietnam when I return in April does anyone know a good cruise to go from Hanoi to Halong bay?

I am after a decent one as I know there a lot of cheap and very risky options which I want to avoid
