I have recently been back to my home country for a short break so I just want to share to you some of the good food I had. Enjoy

Using some chilli jam that I picked up in a market, in Hoi An, just now. Delicious

Ahh I know that balut lol that's kind of controversial about eating eggs like that. The trick is to ask for the 'early' egg in which the baby duck hasn't yet grown into it shape. It freaks me out even as a Vietnamese to eat one that has the whole duck inside :eek:

You crazy! Meats, broths, flavours. How can it not look tasty?

Albeit, it's probably because most Vietnamese food you see is 'street food' when presentation isn't there strong point. But it never bothered me, espically when it was about £2 a meal

Strongly missing Vietnam right now

You have a point there mate. Most of the food is not really well presented but they taste heavenly

Never had that egg thing, had a salted egg which was during a hangover and gave me the book!!

I live in Southampton and I can get most of the ingredients from the China town shop. Wonder if there is one in Scotland

I still managed to find Vietnamese basil in here but that's the closest herb to Vietnamese' loads of others I could ever get in the UK

That's a good idea though. I'm thinking about growing all types of herb and vegetable in my garden instead of flowers
