I have recently been back to my home country for a short break so I just want to share to you some of the good food I had. Enjoy :);)

I did a cooking class in Hoi An which was amazing. All of those dishes make me really want to go back!

Gimme some Cao Lau NOOOWWW

I did one in Ha Long, and a food tour in Hoi An.

Eat Balut when I was on it too, I won't post an image as it makes some people screamish :D

There is LOADS in Hoi An, surprised you never seen them advertised everywhere.

Dead baby duck inside an egg...

Using some chilli jam that I picked up in a market, in Hoi An, just now. Delicious :)

Ahh I know that balut lol that's kind of controversial about eating eggs like that. The trick is to ask for the 'early' egg in which the baby duck hasn't yet grown into it shape. It freaks me out even as a Vietnamese to eat one that has the whole duck inside :(

Some of that food doesn't really appeal to me. I'm sure the flavours must be amazing though. It just doesn't look particularly tasty!

To be fair, the duck was tiny and not quite in shape yet. It wasn't that tasty either, not for the thought of it. I couldn't eat it all.

I've read about Balut, and yeah, that's not nice!

You crazy! Meats, broths, flavours. How can it not look tasty?

Albeit, it's probably because most Vietnamese food you see is 'street food' when presentation isn't there strong point. But it never bothered me, espically when it was about £2 a meal :D

Strongly missing Vietnam right now :(

Found the food in Vietnam lovely, had a home stay where we cooked with the family, and also a couple of visits to families to eat with them (also did one of the cooking courses in hoi an but getting the ingredients on the west coast of Scotland isn't too easy!)
Never had that egg thing, had a salted egg which was during a hangover and gave me the book!!
