viewing a pc on your tv . . .

If you are watching TV, the picture you can get through a s-video to scart is ver acceptable. type can be a bit fuzzy, plus there is overscan to deal with. - Makes web pages hard to read.
I run a linux media centre and would not go back to 'regular' tv.
I use a gforce fx5200 tv out (s-video) to a scart socket on the back of the TV via an adaptor.

I have built a media pc and want to be able to use the tv as my monitor - sounds basic I know - but I have never done this before.

the tv has a number of free scarts + a yellow s video input free - what pci card (cheap) should I be looking at?

will this one work?{snip}
Seek FAQ (here) or your stay will be short!

Like ArchAnGeL said, tried to use just a normal TV with my first (own bought) PC & basically it was very bad! Text was hardly legible :( MCE has a very good user interface which should be fine on any TV. But, you'll encounter problems if you have to setup any programs/games, go online, etc basically if you need to use normal Windows which MCE is built into :)

as long as you set the tv to 800x600, then the tv will work fine as a secondary display. if an ati card is used, then video will fall back theatre mode on the tv allowing the video to work at native res and not scaled.

1024 is abit much desktop use, but works fine for games.
