Viewing a property, had this reply

Also - if you do indeed have his mobile number, some baiting using a withheld number and some abuse is definately called for.

Its a scam

The wording of the letter you received sounds dodgy in parts

One example

Thanks so much while i will be waiting to read from you and i am looking forward to meet you and be great friends eventually.

As mentioned stinks of a Nigeria scam

Scam. He uses the details on the scanned in WU doc you send him to withdraw the money.

The other scam to look out for is where someone rents property then advertises it for rent claiming it is their property to rent.

They show you around, you like the place so sign a contract, get the keys and pay deposit/retainer/first months rent.

Come move in day you and ten other people all turn up having rented the same room..

I'm genuinely shocked you even bothered to ask this.

Surely you have enough about you to see that this is a painfully obvious scam?

That happened in Edinburgh, ran by a 18y/o school boy. He didn't cover his tracks well and was caught more or less immediately!

My god that is a scam if ever I saw one, it has more holes in than my back garden.

Lol..How does that prove you can afford the rent? Proving you can pay month after month is another thing entirely.

I am amazed at the amount of posters on here who need to post blatant scams before they can be sure themselves.

This would only be more obvious if the guy was called Scammy McScammington.

even if it wasnt a scam. at no point should u go through that crap to view a flat/house. tell the muppet to shove his flat.

Whenever I hear 'Western Union Money Transfer' I can't be the only person who thinks of the whole process being carried out by an old-timer in a small room wearing a visor and communicating via telegram, and the Western Union office being located inbetween the coachhouse and the saloon... can I?

I was going to go along with his story and give him a number of the western union transfer but cant be bothered.

If I had more time I would love to get some photos of him holding a big fish above his head or Hovis. What was that scam site where the scammers get scammed? :)
