Viewing car - Missing service book but loads of history

Was going to mention the MOT history check, as with an 11 year old car, you should have quite a bit of history to look through.

A car of that age might have had the last few years services done at an indy garage? Does Audi stop servicing them at a certain age? - for some reason i thought i'd read upto 10 years, but can't find where i had read it.

I guess the only issue may come when selling it on, but if you plan to keep it for 5 years, that'll potentially make it a 16 year old car. If it's quite a sought after car, then maybe the next buyer might hesitate to take it off you.

Yeah this is very useful, in my recent car hunting I found a car that had brake fluid below the low mark for 4 years.

When i was hunting for my car, this was one of the first tools i used to check. I came across one dealer selling the car for around the average price, and could see the mileage it was advertised at. Upon checking the MOT history, i could see that the last MOT was around 10 months ago, with maybe a few miles less on the clock. It was clear to me that this car had either been sat with the previous owner for too long, or had been sat on the garage forecourt for too long.

When i called them out on it on the live chat, they couldn't give me an answer, and wanted a phone number for someone to call me back instead. At that point i had quit out of the live chat, if you couldn't be honest up-front, i'm hardly going to listen to some salesman waffle that he's now had time to prep for.
