viewing pictures problem

hi need a bit of help?

due to a windows install issue i had to use data recovery software to retrive some info, part of it was a load of pictures.

the strange is i recovered all the pic fine and they all show as thumb nails, but when i try to open or slide show some of them work fine the rest come up with msgs like preview failed or unsupported file or unknow file header tried a few different pic viewer programs but always same result, checked properties for pics and they all say there jpeg.

any ideas?

corrupt images thats the only answer, Sorry but you may have some luck doing a google for an image rebuilder or performing a chkdsk on the drive to see if thats the cause.
