views change on there own

my views keep changing on their own!
mainly when i go to control panel, but doesnt happen when i go to folders.
i set to list but come back and its icon just now it was extra large icon.
any reason why it would keep doing this and how to set it not to do it again?

i guess from everyones gripes that its jsut a vista thing
did check my folder options but they are as i set them

Unfortunately so

A full re-install with SP1 applied supposedly fixes it, but damned if im bothering!
