I have seen a lot of people with old nvidia cards complaining about this issue on the web, basically no matter what the link between the video card and lcd is stuck in DVI-A mode, even if the card is outputing Digital.
I too can cause this issue by by connecting my 7600 based lappy to the vga port on the 2030B, while my mac mini (has both xp and Tiger) is permanently connected via the supplied DVI-A/D cable to the DVI port.
eventually only a dvi-a signal from the DVI port becomes available, it aint bad infact when you do an auto sync its almost like dvi-D quality.
after ages of messing about I found a way to trick the screen back to digital by swapping the cable for a DVI-I one, the only issue I have now is I dont see the startup boot screen.
anyone else have this issue with a viewsonic
