iv been after one of these monitors for so long, im almost at the point of ordering one

i did go to the website but i couldnt find what i was looking for, so..

If i get one that has a dead pixel, can i send it back or would their have to be a certain number of them?

it should be covered by their zero dead pixel policy for any which are totally dead on black or white. However, it wont cover dead subpixels, which are much more common anyway, stuck on red/blue/green which i think you'll need something like 5-7 of before they consider it faulty. You do have distance selling regulations to rely on if need by, check the sticky for a bit more info :)

alright thanx, another quick question for you...

on ocuk,

the VX912 is £256

and the VX922 is £217???

And the vx922 has a better contrast ratio and g2g response time so why is it cheaper than the vx912

I'm pretty sure Viewsonic are pretty good for dead pixels, in both warranty and them not happening at all.

But as has been said your covered under distance sellers.

To be fair my mate got a VX912 a few months back and it had a dead subpixel on the very edge of the screen (he had to point it out for me to see it!) he just gave them a ring and they had a new monitor for him the next day!

they both use the same panel technology, and in fact just different versions of the same AU Optronics TN Film panel. The VX912 was the 8ms (previously also 12ms) model released before the overdriven panels began to emerge. With the application of overdrive and the rest of Viewsonic's ClearMotiv technology suite, they dropped it to 4ms, and then 3ms on the VX924, and now 2ms on the VX922. The VX922 is a newer model and features a well controlled application of overdrive which has helped reduce response time greatly and improve responsiveness in practice as well as on paper. The only reason the VX912 is more expensive is due to stock levels as it's not as easy to source, but there's really no reason to get that over the VX922

Man thats some quality service there :)

I feel like dipping deep into the pockets for that widescreen 22incher ;)

Yeah I was incredibly impressed (especially after a huge amount of hassle I had with an LG warranty) certainly makes Viewsonic's more tempting...

We have a couple of brand new Viewsonic VG2021M monitors here 1 has a stuck sub pixel (Green) and the other has 3 (Of varying colours) and they will not replace them. They have to have either 1 dead pixel (Black or White) or at least 7 sub pixels (Red, Gree or blue).

These 20" monitors with the lower native resolutions seem to have poor screens... That said we have had a few of the LG ones and they have been fine... Just waiting on the Belinea ones now.
