Hi

Am about to buy a new TFT and have narrowed it down to these two, at the moment I am leaning towards the VIEWSONIC VX922 but I have read some brilliant and bad reviews of it, just wondering what you think?
Thanks

This article might help you decide. For all intents and purposes the Samsung 940BF = 930BF, just that they supposedly turned up the RTC overdrive application a little. Imo it's a heavy dose of marketing and in real terms they are pretty similar. The overdrive control on the VX922 is better than on the Samsung panels, and this means less white halo-ing, something which some users have complained about on the Samsung models, and also to less noise in movie playback. It's just controlled more evenly on the AU Optronics panel used in the Viewsonic models, and Samsung have had a tough time controlling this "overshoot" in their panels. Anyway, take a read of that link, it should help, but the VX922 would be a better choice imo

Thanks a lot Baddass I have just ordered the VX922 :)

I just got my Viewsonic today. It went from the UK to Netherlands and then to Ireland in about 8 hours !!! I am glad to report it has ZERO dead or stuck pixels, and I love it. Windows is really crisp and bright. It's really easy on the eyes when reading text. I was using my Sony triniton for the last month or so and that is positively painful now. Have not tried gaming yet, but I am sure it will be fine as everyone knows it has a 2ms GTG response time.

Well Quake 4 plays superbly. Cant notice any ghosting at all. I forced my nvidia drivers to run apps at 75hz at 1280. This minimises any tear as I dont like to use vsync (since it halves the framerate if their is slowdown) since most modern games will rarely go over 75fps on my rig with all the eye candy. Running my 7900gtx oem at 700/1880. Very nice. Now for some Oblivion :)

I have some backlight bleeding in 1 place only. Accross the top edge. Noticeable in dark games like Quake 4. Runs along the top edge for about 6 inches, about 1/4 inch wide. Hopefully it will improve but isn't a reason to return the monitor as I don't watch many movies on my PC and I can live with it for the odd fps. Too risky anyway, as I could end up with one with a stuck pixel. Overall very happy with this screen so far.

Just arrived, is fantastic, couldnt ask for any better. No dead pixels to report, I will see how games handle in a bit. Thanks a lot Baddass for the help!

no problems. Would be interested to hear your analysis when you've had chance to play with it a bit. Maybe a few pics too :)
