Vince's Repair Thread - (Console Repairs & Mods)

On that note - @Vince, what’s your scope again please? Must grab one while sales are on

High cloud 4k... this one...

But you will need a bracket that makes it all work without you wanting to smash your face against a wall.

The problems with the stock setup annoyed me enough that I made that spacer to adapt the scope... If you buy the scope and want the adapter I can either swing you the stl or print you one up in resin like the one that sits in my scope :)

Hey Vince. Someone told me to post in this thread.

I have an Xbox Elite 2 controller which has a stuck left thumbstick that doesn't reset to a neutral position. It is still in warrenty I think but I'm curious to know what I should do. I got it on Amazon but I guess I could always talk to Microsoft myself. Interested to hear what you think.

New sticks and manual trim pots!! Its the only way with the elite!

Capacitor back on that PS5, but nothing. Not even picking it up on the TV at all now. Must have bridged something somewhere.

Square 1. Hello darkness my old friend... Walked away from it in the end. If there's anything watch repair has taught me, it's the skill of cooling off and patience. Lest you gorilla something.

This is the way did you do a quick probe on hdmi port in diode mode to just check everything looks right? On the back side there is a diode and some other bits if I'm not mistaken. Pics front and back of port.. come one man show us what we are working with here. :D have you also checked the filters etc?

Also just check you are getting the 5v pin 19!

Both pads are just the standard x/s controller all be it different colors

yea they mostly have the old 10k pots in them with square top! halls are readily available here. Its the screw in tops from the elites that are more difficult to come by

I want to say it was me but alas it wasn't!

My son has a v2 elite pad that's not working properly. From memory its the shoulder pads and maybe stick drift. Is this something you could look at?

Lots coming in right now. If you give me a week or so I can take a look :)

Vince, ever had a series 2 where the top paddles don't work ?
I've a couple, I have tried different paddles, if I take the paddle off and press it registers oddly. But then the paddles work on another controller.

Also got one to look at that's peeling like the above. Going to put a starfield shell on, think they look cool.

We talking rear paddles? Or top triggers?

Little update just because I think some people might want to know what an ayaneo rma/repair experience is like, I contacted aya neo about the 6800u based ayaneo air plus flagship on the 6th of october, it took several weeks to arrange getting it back to them and I sent the flagship console to them on the 17th of last month. It took 2 days to arrive with them and they charged me $250 (which i'm now lead to believe is nothing to do with the repair and is just my costs for getting it to them and return shipping). I've been chasing for updates since the 24th of last month after it being with them for a few days just to actually check that they got it. for a month solid they have been telling me that its on the way to their Shenzhen warehouse, this is where we are now at.... This is for a device that starts at $779, which should also be in warranty but im not the original owner so they wanted nothing to do with that, nothing at all...

Strange is not the word I would use, I would use the word slow, at this point this could be a 3 month turnaround or more from the first point of contact:

I'll keep you all updated :) For some clarity they have made it clear, if parts are needed everything is chargeable... Lets see what happens.
