Oh my word ...8 DS's! That's bravery. They are horrible things to work on
I find them quite easy!! Compared to say the 3ds they are a walk in the park!

It's the board to screen cable that goes through the hinge. EwI find them quite easy!! Compared to say the 3ds they are a walk in the park!
Sounds like ‘we don’t have any update, so here’s some waffle instead’
It’s almost sounding like a one man band type operation…with the one man not having a clue what they’re doing either! This is the single slowest rma/repair process I have ever seen. It genuinely absurd how long it's taken. It's basically comical at this point. I still have absolutely no idea how much this is going to cost me either and have basically agreed to what seems like an open book on costs. Just the shipping was £200 (well $250). I am pretty sure I have never been this in the dark on any rma process ever genuinely during the process of trying to get a repair I asked several times on costs and nobody wanted to give an actual figure, just send it in for this much money and we will work the rest out later seemed to be all the info they were willing to give. Wtf sort of policy is that?
It now impossible to recommend one of these to anybody because if something goes wrong they could be waiting I dunno 3 months or more for a resolution. That email "it will require some time" what is this "some" measurement? What does that represent in say seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months or years?

The v2 has 4 motors and if they are all in and working correctly they should feel pretty good. The rumbles in the ps5 pads though are imo better. You can calibrate the elite rumble in software I think... I'm not 100 % but I'll check and have a play.
I did finish up the elite series 1 (just waiting on the low concave sticks to turn up) and when the rest of the parts get here we shall make a blue elite series 2.
Thinking about it I've spent way too much on that elite series 1 pad it had both pots, pot trim / anti drift, new face plate, new side trim, new l1,l2 r1,r2 ib fact all new buttons all round. Rear and battery cover are still original.
@BuffetSlayer - What was up with your one. Just unboxed it... looks nice!
RB / LB buttons failing. From memory I think RB is worse.
Also the A button sometimes misses when pressed. It’s intermittent though.
You can replace all the triggers buttons and sticks for me, if you have the time and the parts.new buttons are in order then my friend! I shall replace the triggers and have a look at the A button. want funky colour buttons or anything else while I am in there
just feeling it out the A does feel proper weak, it doesnt ping back like the others... ill probably replace the membrane with a better donor.. I bet its got a little tear in it.

I really liked the blue buttons and highlights from the pad in the pic a few posts above. Also happy if you wanna do your own thing if you have spares/parts you want to use / get rid of! Feel free to make it a Vince original!
I’d be interested in new pots / drift kits too.
I hear about hall sticks all the time. Can’t remember if it’s doable on an elite v2? Anything that will improve longevity and reduce common failure risks is all good with me!
