Rather than go to the police, go to your solictior. You might be able to get a non-molestation order, it comes with the power of arrest should she do it again. This way she won't be arrested, but serve as a serious warning to her should she do it again she will be arrested.
I'd only do that if it didn't involve me having to pay. Probably also go to the solicitors where she works ;)

Violence is never warranted, it is never justified and it is certainly never right.

Anyone who says there can be a good reason for bottling someone needs to wise up and evolve a little.

You can want to hurt someone, you can play out the satisfaction in your head, but stepping over that line is wrong and if a bunch of computer nerds can't get that into their head I fear for the future of British society.

To the OP, whether you choose to press charges or not, get the attack down in writing and take the names of witnesses if at all possible (the bouncer would be a great one). If things spiral out of control then at least you have proof of previous actions.

I was going to add to my earlier post about the need to get the names of the witnesses for the latest assault. I think Telescopi has hit the nail on the head here. Personally i think contacting her is entirely the wrong thing to do, and if you decide that is a route you want to follow ensure you have some witnesses and are in a public place as she may decide that its a prime opportunity to have another go at you, or decide since you are alone (if you make that mistake) to create a few trumped up charges against you. I say avoid her like the plague, may not be easy but will probably turn out better in the long run as you are not opening yourself up to any further problems.

Hi guys,

Well i met up with her last night. She burst into tears as soon as she got in my car. I think she had been drinking to be honest but that doesnt suprise me, shes gone off the rails.

She couldnt apologise enough, every 2 mins she said sorry and it wont happen again.

I told her im willing to let this drop but if it ever happened again i would march straight to the police. She agreed with me and said it was a bad thing to have done and in no way shape or form did i deserve being physically hurt.

Anyway, to cut the story short, i ended up giving her one for the road, which probably wasnt a good idea, but what the hell.

I asked her if we could be friends and say hi to each other when we see each other out and she said yes....

So maybe things are looking up?

I just hope she doesnt take the 'one for the road' as a 'he still loves me and wants me back' :|

Just have to wait and see.

Oh and guys, shes only a legal secretary, not a solicitor :D

you arse.

what where you thinking? when you BOTH need distance you give her "one for the road"?

way to make things worse!

Just a hypothetical situation for you here. What happens now if she goes to the cops and claims you raped her. Physical evidence existing from your "one for the road". Not saying that its remotely likely to happen, but you have given her that ammunition if she choses to use it.

I really dont think it was a particulary clever thing to have done given the circumstances. What happens when she sobers up and realises what happened and hates you even more for it.

Only you know the exact circumstances, so possibly no harm done.

Hmmm let me think on past form will she think:-

1. "it's just one for the road" (I'm really not sure that exists in a womens world)
2. "well he slept with me so he must still love me"

in her mind it's got to be number 2. by a country mile!

HEADRAT

I think she needed reporting to the police so that she didn't do it to someone else in future. I think there's a strong chance that she will do.

Oh and if the OP gets attacked and injured by her in future, I'll have no sympathy at all.
