Virgin 50mb Speed problems :(

Hey guys just had virgin media 50mb installed and connected directly to the box via Ethernet it gets 49mb. But as soon as you try to connect via the wireless router the speeds massively drop.

Right next to the router with wireless G laptop it gets 19mb. In my room with a wireless N card i'm only getting 1 signal bar and 8-9mb. Where before with sky i could get better signal and speeds.

Is there anything i can do to improve this in the settings maybe change the channel etc. The router is D-link Wireless N home router DIR-615 and my wireless N usb is a D-link DWA-140.

You could try updating drivers directly from the manufacturers websites - I had some luck with this. But as with yours, I get nowhere near the full 50mb with a wireless connection, even if Im right next to the router.

I tend to download on my main PC only and have a wired connection to it, using the laptop and wireless just for browsing and logging onto work.
