Virgin Media 20mb - a joke

What speed test is that? I wouldnt rely on a website.

Try downloading a few files from ftp.blueyonder.co.uk and add the transfer speeds together.
 
yeah ive tried that gamefiles a lot. via http and ftp. Both give different results

Yesterday my total was 100kb/sec and now my total via ftp is 1200-1900kb/sec and via http is 900-2100kb/sec

not very stable tho, constantly changing speed

Atleast it seems fine now. will do exact same thing later tonight and see if I get those speeds when people are home from work etc :)

I've been one of the users that went from a rock solid 10meg connection to a rubbish 4-5meg connection after my 20meg 'upgrade', so I followed the above link and ordered a replacement modem.
It arrived just two days later and only took a few minutes to register it with Virgin, and my first download with the blueyonder gamefiles site showed a solid 1990k speed, fantastic! :D

I would recommend anyone who is having problems to get their free modem upgrade, it's worked wonders for me.
