Finally got through to someone helpful. They offered me early upgrade from 10mb to 20mb after I asked them about the 60mb for extra £5. As I wanted to cut my TV package down to the minimum (saving me £14 off my bill) they increased me to 100mb instead for £13. Superhub being delivered on Thursday without the silly £49.95 charge for engineer installation. :)

So what is your current package and how much will you be paying?

Virgin Media have just seriously sorted out the area Im in last week.

Im only on 10mb/s Optical atm and before I was getting severe throttle during the day to 1-3mb/s and a max download rate of 1.1mb/s

The onlky time I got near to 10mb/s was after 1 in the morning and it was 9mb/s

Never had a download rate of more than 1.1mb/s though.

Now even on peak times I have 20 mb/s even as we speak and download rate of 4mb/s!!!!

We got a letter last month saying it was going to improve but I didnt think much of it and was going to cancel, well Im glad I didnt.

Im only paying £15 a month! Now getting 20mb/s!!

you mean Mbps not MB/s , right?

because 20MB/s would = 160 mbps. which VM don't do

Well broadband speeds are quoted in megabits per second not megabytes. There are 8 bits in a byte so you do the math. I had to correct the guy from Sky who said I'd get 35 megabytes.

So I just got the CAPS wrong....

mb/S is right yeh?

you mean Mbps not MB/s , right?

And I never said MB/s either. I said mb/s which is Million bits per second, not Megabytes per second like MB/s.
Although I didn't know, if your going to correct someone you may want to get it right yourself :p Even when no doubt you know what I meant anyway.....

Cool, just missed out a capital M then lol.

Either way, I'm sure you clearly know what I meant.

Thanks for enlightening me but if your going to be abit of a smart ass get it right yourself :p

I never said I got it right, and I said thanks for enlightening me on the actual terms.

I just said you most probably knew exactly what I meant and if you were going to correct me in a smart ass way then get it right yourself.

I called it mb/s, you said;

you mean Mbps not MB/s , right?

because 20MB/s would = 160 mbps. which VM don't do

You could have just said "There is no such thing as mb/s, you mean Mb/s" Instead of being a smart ass.
I just missed out a capital M lol

But as you said, Virgin dont do 160 mbps, you clearly knew exactly what I meant which was Mb/s instead of mb/s and went out your way to be a smart ass by saying

If you weren't being a smart ass then the only other answer is you were being very stupid :p

You didnt.

That would have been saying "Btw mate its not mb/s its Mb/s"

Instead you were being a moron about it, hardly trying to help me atall.
