Virgin media issues 50mb service

Hi Guys,

Just after some advice from some of you,

I have been experiencing a lot of issues with my service since oct 2010 where as i am having high ping and packet loss issues i am connected via ethernet also experiencing severe drops in my speed aswell as just irratic behavior in general this seems to happen frequently on a monthly basis sometimes my service can be fine.

Basically everytime i have contacted them they advise it is due to the area being over subscribed on the 50mb service which is affecting the whole area they have offered parcial credit everytime i rang however as my issue keeps on occuring i dont care for the credit i just want some form of solution.

From my last formal complaint to them the best they offered was 3 months free on the Large TV package i feel this isnt acceptable. all i want is an ammicable solution to the problem.

I am stuck in the 12 months contract period with them and i do not really want to move to a different provider as when my service is ok its just how i want it!.

What would you guys do in my shoes?
 
I'm in the same situation, not much that can be done other than complain, get credits and wait for them to fix it.

Start a thread up on http://community.virginmedia.com and you might get some answers but probably not.

I'm looking in to getting a short term contract from O2 or something similar just so I can game then cancel as and when VM fix my problems.
 
Its a complete pain in the **** ive written a 2nd complaint letter to them aswell as contacting ofcom as it is simply that they are oversubscribing the area and do not have enough nodes to support the congestion.


I think your right i can only just keep on at them :(
 
Check your power levels by logging into the "Hub" and clicking connection.

The power levels should be as close to 0 as possible.

If you post the stats to the VM forums, people will advise, and eventually the mods will, and if needs be, get an engineer to you. Took about a week for me, and was fixed within 10mins of him arriving.
