i know it is kind of in the wrong section but i need a quick reply (very impatient)

does any one know the settings for virgin media or can find them on the net, my belkin router is messing up and i dont know what settings to put in, it asks for ppoe or ppoa and stuff and i aint got a clueb

you don't configure the router. The modem plugs into the router unlike adsl.

i cant plug the virgin modem in to the router as it only has a usb plug (god damn speedtouch 300) plus the router has a built in modem

PS THIS ISNT A CABLE MODEM it is via a BT phone line

try this

Virgin ADSL off-net generic settings.

VPI = 0 (Virtual Path Identifier)

VCI = 38 (Virtual Channel Identifier)

ADSL Modulation = Auto

Encapsulation Mode = PPP over ATM (PPPoA - RFC2364)

MUX (Multiplexing)= VC

MTU = 1458 (or Auto)

DHCP Server:- enable

Otherwise phone up virgin and ask
