VirginMedia (FREE) Freedom NetBook

Cheers for the drivers Pagdodd. Like you the wireless does not work. I can get wireless with my netgear dongle but thats all. I did read in the book you get that a non warrenty repair will cost £110 pounds. That said i think as they omitted the info about the reinstall in the booklet then the least they could do is repair it for free.

Yeah, exactly.

They did in fact call me back and said that they are prepared to re-image it for me but only when they receive the software. Which they are hoping to get this week.

All though they still didn't say they would do it for free.

We'll have to wait and see.

Seems pretty bad that the Technical Help line don't have a clue what they are doing

LOL sounds like nothing has changed since it was NTL, still cant get the orders right, and cant communicate between depts, hope you get everything sorted dude.

Wonder if anyone else with one can see if they can copy the drivers and upload them.

Can anyone upload the drivers for the wireless card. Or at least let me know what XP sees the wireless card is called so I can perhaps find the drivers myself??

I had to change my wireless settings on my router from WEP to WPA because WEP doesn't support Wireless N. (according to my router anyway)

I hope I am not stepping on anybodys' toes and please feel free to delete this post if you are not happy but I have just created a new forum dedicated to the Freedom netbook (after all the problems I have had) and due to the fact this is the only place I can find anyone talking about it.

Nice touch mate. Good idea there must be more than the people on here with the same problems. If you need somewhere to host the drivers for download let me know and i'll host them on my website for you.

yeah, that would be good I have them on megaupload at the minute.

PM me

Ive sorted it - it was the MAC Address filtering "trusted stations" that was the problem. Even though i had added the MAC address it still didnt work so i disabled it and straight on with no problems.

Everything is up and running as it should be, thanks for the suggestions

Hello mate. sorry i ment to post. It worked great mate cheers. I've had a bit of a problem with my router so not been on much. Regiestered on your site mate and will post on there.

Cheers for the drivers.

Has anyone got the sound working on Windows 7 (Ultimate RTM)? I get 'No Audio Device is Installed' however in the device manager seems to be installed correctly.

I tried the driver pack but the sound driver isnt recognised.

Other than that everything her works fine on a Win 7 fresh install. I installed via USB using this guide.
