So after the recent Viro-Sol heads up I purchased some from ebay, it was 12 quid inc p&p for 5l, it came this morning.
The wheels haven't been cleaned for a while and there was a considerable amount of dirt and brake dust.
As you can see here, this would be extremely difficult to remove with just car shampoo.
Now my initial plan was to clean them normally, take a picture and then hit the Viro-Sol to see the improvement. However I just decided to crack straight on with the Viro-Sol, but I can say after a good cleaning they never come up great.
I decided to dilute it 50:50 with water, I know this is strong but I don't muck about. I need to say that this product is strong stuff and there is always a potential when using harsh chemicals for things to go wrong.
I sprayed it on and left it 10 minutes to work then gave it a quick brush and sprayed again.
Then I spent 15 minutes giving it a good going over and using a toothbrush to get into all the small gaps.
Gave the wheel a good hosing down, you don't want this stuff lingering in any nucks and crannies but looking good.
It has cleaned really well and left the wheel spotless.
The only problem now is you can see the imperfections now such as were old wheel balancing weights have been and a few scratches.
I tried claying but it didn't make it any better.
Banged some Collinite 845 to give it a good seal and all done, well thats one done anyway.
Extremely pleased with the results.
