Virtual Input Sound Driver?

Is there such a program or driver type application that will emulate a microphone but instead you are just playing music from your PC rather than putting your microphone up to the speakers - so that if you were in an online chat you could share recordings you have made via chat rather than sending the files?

And no, I do not believe you can emulate a microphone, as it initialy records Anologue, anything stored on your computer is Digital.

Would depend on your sound card but setting the default 'recording' device to wav instead of mic could work. Would you be trying to use the mic at the same time?

Creative used have 'What You Hear'. That would send everything that you heard back down the selected input device.

Is that not using the mic though?

He wants to do all that without a mic, which as far as I know, is not possible.
He'll either have to stream the song, or send it them.

But does anyone know if this is possible for Asus P5b-e with Soundmax HD Audio?
