Virtual PC 2007

I have to say that I like Virtual PC especially if you have a C2D or Core Duo chip and enable Virtualisation... its very fast then... love it :)

I use it every day for work.
It's not great but that's more to do with the horrible programs I run on it than the software itself.
You can't knock it for nowt! ;)

Get the free version of VMware - "vmware server" IMO it is much better than Virtual PC and better supported with other OSes....

vmware and virtualbox are both great. take your pick of either of those 2.

i tried virtual pc and it was painfully slow for me. admittedly i only have a single core cpu and i dare say the enhancements for dual core are good.... but virtual box is blindingly fast on my meagre setup. from what i've read, you can't connect usb devices to virtual pc either. :)

Have a look at virtualbox, not used it yet but been highly recommended.

virtualbox is a lot faster than both vmware and vpc

vmware is the best if you're using loads of them to network test with each other, vbox is the best for testing things quickly

i have virtualbox installed and it didn't work for me at first either. so i read the manual... :p after adding the filter, you need to unplug the device and then plug it in again. i've tested myself and it does work. you can see my usb bluetooth adapter in my virtual machine... :)
