Hey just gave the 64bit version a download there and i keep getting the error "you are not running a supported OS"

Im using Vista HP x 64. why is this happening.?

is there and alternatives.?

Thanks :)

Virtual PC isn't "officially" supported on Home Premium, only on Professional and above, but I've read elsewhere on the interwebs that if you ignore the warning it works OK anyway (haven't tried it myself, so take it for what it's worth).

Failing that, you could give VirtualBox a try, which is better than Virtual PC 2007 anyway. :)

ahh i did ignore it an when i went to install an os i kept getting the error...that my cpu is not supported and wouldnt install anything xp/vista/w7...

giving VMware a go just now, and will have a go at VirtualBox aswell. Thanks

virtualbox is my favourite from the three of them

seems to have the nicest GUI imo, be sure to install the 'virtualbox additions' once you have windows up and running in it, gives you things like moving the mouse in & out of the screen quicker, and auto resizes the res when you change the window size

i found vmware and vpc too bloaty/clunky in comparison

+1 - Virtual Box baled me out nicely when my Wife's old card making software stopped working when I moved to Vista 64. I had an XP VM up and running in no time, with no prior experience of VM's, great software.

The new version of virtual box now lets you assign cpu's to the virtual pc so if you have a quad host you can let the virtual pc have 2 cpu's
