When I first saw this, I thought it would be niche.

But 1000 backers and $380k so quickly is amazing.

Considering that happens in MMOs when just a keyboard is involved - no bet. I do however bet theyre spending shedloads on a watertight liability doc.

I'm not surprised, this is the right time for VR to take off. We have the tech, we just need to make it reality.

Crouch, prone, sitting down, getting in/out of cars/planes/tanks... etc..

I guess its a step (rim shot) in the right direction but still way, way off anything useful imo.

I guess it would be good for a running simulator...?

Can't wait to see the massive gaming projects this will surly bring (big rooms with loads of these in with everyone playing online/LAN together)

INDEED! the preliminary release date was Jan 2014. Think it will probably be months later June or July ish. Would make sense for the Oculus chaps and Omni chaps to synch their retail releases (unless of course oculus want to do their own movement system as well as HMD)


2014 Looks like the breakthrough year for VR...will start saving the pennies now
