Hi I want to buy some kit from OcUK after christmas,

now I only have a visa debit card , no longer have a credit card, I was wondering what protection i have using a Visa Debit card online, Ie what damage protection or protection from the retailer going bust.

Some online retailers use the Verified by Visa method where, before you make the purchase it redirects you to a secure network where you enter some digits from your password, that is if you have already signed up to the scheme, I think. I get prompted to enter my password on most purchases.
 
I've found it to offer the same amount of security as a Visa Credit card, tbh. The "verified by Visa" procedure mentioned above is good as well, with most retailers asking you to enter a password before the transaction can continue.
