Vista 32 hangs when i switch user

Hi All,

Have a problem with *** user switch on vista hp 32 bit

No probs clicking switch user and going back to the login screen but when i start another account up the mouse freezes and where sidebar should be is a black space?

Then nothing happens,

pressed control alt delete and clicked log off to try and get out then get a popup saying program manager is stopping me logging off then one saying explorer.exe is

then it just goes to a black screen, nothing until a hard reset?

Any ideas whats causing it to hang?
