For RC1 i downloaded 32bit as i know that there are hardly any 64 bit drivers out there for my rig. when vista is actually released i will by the 64 it version to get the full effect of my cpu! the drivers will fly out for 64 once vista is out

I've been using x64 for a long time now, so Vista x64 will be a natural progression. Really Microsoft should have only done Ultimate as an x64 thing so that they could push adoption of x64 technology and services.

I like most people have been waiting for a 64 bit OS to go with my 64 bit CPU but when yo actually look at the advantages at the moment there aren'y any!

If you use your PC for gamming and general stuff like photos and music then installing Vista 64 will only cause grief without a single benefit!

It would mean no more tweaking and benching with beta drivers, not being able to run many apps and games, no compatabilty with music gear like LIne 6 and a worry eveytime you purchase any software or hardware that it might not work!

Maybe in a year or two software will appear that benefits from 64 bit Vista and maybe more driver support will be available!

Can anyone who is a home user and has Vista 64 installed name one thing or advantage over 32 bit Vista?

There isn't an advantage yet, but by the time it is released there shouldn't be a disadvantage. Hardware is 64bit ready and the drivers are there/getting there.
