Vista & 360

of Vista if you intend to use it as a Media Centre.

Well yeah the media centre stuff for a start. Id say there no chance of DivX

you can already stream DivX - with Transcode 360

Why do we need Vista?

XP does everything i want it to and it looks pretty, windows 98 doenst look pretty nor is it user friendly IMO

VISTA just wont be the huge jump that XP was for me IMO

Why do we need Vista?

Same reason as to why you needed XP when it was released.

It's a new version, it will 'hopefully' be more secure, more bug free and more user friendly. Companies are gonna jump on the bandwagon and make things "Vista Compatible" only.

lol, well to answer your ninja edit, I believe Vista is ment to be about a technology leap rather than a feature based update. The actual workings of Windows is ment to be changing the biggest amount since the move from Windows 3.1 to Windows 95.

its done to keep the pc market moving along. New Os will no doubt require all new products for compatibility thus users have to upgrade and spend money to make compatibile or be left in the dark ages.

well, you can, but that's such a backwards method for doing it I hope competition gets fierce enough with sony that MS chuck us a divx compatible bone :]
