im using so gettin it at 68k at the moment lol.

also got it on download on the network at 58k wow!!! gotta laugh,

Speeds are all over the place, 320-875, at the moment it's less than 1hour

i'm downloading this temp ISO directly with Opera, no crap download manager or anything! 100% confused lol

Yeh im running the download manager and it says 'unable to connect', warp2search states that theres only 100,000 download slots and then there closing it, has it reached its total ?

no the akamai, is what the download manager is called. you dont need to get the download manager if your downloading the iso,

just download and burn.

Have to re-iterate guys, i am downloading this as we speak, so i cannot confirm if it all works yet or what either lol.

I just passed on a link that was given to me. Hence my post above asking anyone who is getting it at a decent speed to let us know how they get on.

How do we know this is build 5553? It doesn't say that on the page anywhere.

This link has no mention of 100.000 download limit.

guess we will have to suck it an see.

am downloading not using the manager now, file is called akaria_temp.iso

or summat along those lines

It really ain’t working mate, every link on that page (32bit) leads to akamai_temp.iso!!

can you give the full url for the download?

Look at the urls more carefully one has x86 as a folder and the other has x64

The only thing I can think of is that this is indeed the RC1 link and the "temp iso" file is the real RC1 with a dummy name in preparation for the public release. Perhaps this web page shouldn't even be public at this time?

I know we shouldn't believe everything Paul Thurrott says but he reckons the RC1 build should have been finalised yesterday afternoon. And now this morning, this page appears. Maybe somebody at Microsoft has released it early "accidentally on purpose" if you catch my drift?

Its comes down as the akaria_temp.iso and its 3.12gb which has me confused as its bigger than previous vista releases.
