does anybody know if it is possible to get a demo of either the home premium or ultimate versions of vista 64-bit? I want to try it out on 1 of my systems to make sure that all the software and hardware will work before shelling out on a copy.

There are no demo's of Windows. if you post your hardware and software requirements I'm sure we can tell you if they are all supported.
