Vista 64 problem

When I try to update windows I get the following message

Code:80072F78

When I try to update windows defender I get the following message

Code: 0x80240022

Ive tried the internet and thats just confused me even more as they were working up until recently.

Any advice on what to try?

Check the sysdate and time are correct

you look at your system date and time and compare them to the rest of the world?

Well tbh if thats the level of help im going to get on here then I dont want any.
Of course my date and time are correct!

Seeing as that in the most likely cause of the error it is not a suprise you were asked. There was no need for the sarcasm.

PCs often de-sync there time, and this can cause issues. On our network here at work we have them all supposidley syncing to our Altiris server, which works most of the time but the odd PC (5000 odd on the network) will stop using the correct time and randomly make its own time (varying between a few mins and 6 hours out on the same day). So it is a legitimate question. I would try to help more but i dont know that much with Vista.

Agree with everyone else. Don't go about that way if you asked for help.
My time was out my a min and a few seconds and my msn stopped connecting. So why dont you try syncing it just to be sure if you havn't done so yet.

And no snotty replys, at the end of the day yer the one with the problem :cool:
