Vista - BOOTMGR Not Found

Has anyone had issues trying to boot from a Vista DVD?

It comes up with the Microsoft Green Bar scroll thing and then the screen goes black. After that nothing happens!

Wish i hadn't decided to go with my Vista partition and delete the XP one. Now it gives me a 0xc0000225 error. Cannot find Winlogon. To solve boot from your Vista CD and repair the installation!

I F.....G would if i could!

Okay i figured that i needed to roll back my computer to a similar setup before i binned the XP partition and expanded the Vista one to take up its space.

So i resized and moved the vista partition so there was some space (10GB) before it. Once i had done this the Vista DVD would boot up properly allowing me to repair the partition to get Vista to boot properly.

The question i now have is whats the fastest way to reclaim the empty space at the start of the disk?

I have been using gparted to resize/move my partitions but that takes 3 hours to do the dirty. Is there any other way that might be faster?

Thanks

Ok the saga continues.

Now i am able to get into windows. Which is great. The only problem i have now is that I have to have the DVD in the drive at boot time otherwise i get a message "BOOTMGR Not Found. CTRL^ALT^DEL to Restart". If i leave the DVD in the drive whilst booting, it comes up with the "Press any key to boot of the DVD or CD". I ignore this and then Vista loads correctly from the hard disk.

Anyone know how to fix this? Or does anyone want to actually reply to my thread?

Many Thanks

Edit: Oh can a Mod change the title of this thread to "BOOTMGR not found - Vista" thanks :)
