Vista bugs!

I was playing a java game when something really screwed up, all the stuff on the taskbar went to the left side, i put my mouse there and its pointing further away than where im actually pointing

then the icons on the desktop went big and other weird stuff

wtf?? so i rebooted :confused:

Probably a Java bug, though. JRE 5 isn't Vista compatible, so make sure you're using JRE 6 for starters.

i had downloaded the newer java already some days ago

plus while it happened i closed the java app and it still messed up, my desktop icons are now big aswell which i didnt even change.. it all happened itsself

Yes use Java JRE6 that for Vista support as JRE5 is not for Vista -- just for older Windows.

Were you using this at the same time as having Aero?

If Aero comes across something that is not compatible with the display it reverts to non-Aero in the manner you're describing.

Something can be Vista compatible and yet NOT Aero compatible

er, well everything was normal until it just screwed up.. everything on the taskbar went to the left hand side.. and the mouse wouldnt work on stuff i pointed it at.. like i had to move a few inces away and guess where to click to maximize a certain window on the taskbar.. the icons went all big on the desktop, i tried moving things with my mouse but all i got was green lines just sticking there

so something obviously screwed up, i ctrl, alt + deleted out of it and rebooted and everything was back to normal bar for my icons staying big

Ah, this is probably due to the game and Vista not playing nicely with eachother.

You should be able to resize your icons quite easily through the normal methods (Display Properties). Was this game online?
