Afternoon guys.

I'm trying to get A codec pack for Windows Vista. I had one called FDshow or something like that. But, it always gives errors or something not 100% with it.

Does anyone know of a better pack I can use that works with Windows Vista?

Many thanks! :)

I don't think packs should be recommended as they can end up causing problems, just get a selection of only what you need or try something like vlc if it works for vista and you want an all in one player.

Good point. However, it's very time consuming to find the exact codec I need, when in the past I've used packs and they usally work very well.

Thanks though. :)

i use ffdshow-tryout with vista x86, nothing wrong with it except i needed to add dllhost.exe to the whitelist of apps allowed to use ffdshow to enable thumbnail previews.

i've been using some old version of ffdshow.....

ffdshow-rev801_20070119_sse

plays all my avis/dvds etc so i see no reason to update it. :)
