I ordered Vista Home Premium 64 bit edition last week tuesday and i was suppose to recieve it on Thursday. Which i didnt, so i rang up OcUK to check up and they said that i should speak to City Link parcel services. So i called them and they said that the parcel has been delivered on Thursday to my address and signed for and this doesnt concern them anymore. I was at home all day thursday and clearly would have remembered any such event! A day later i recieved a mail from City Link saying that i should contact OCUK and ask them to claim on my behalf if I have not recieved my package. So i again called OcUK and they replied by saying that they would start the claim process. The very following day a City Link worker delievered the package, saying that he unknowingly delivered to the wrong address and he is very sorry. I opened the package to see a Dvd sized card board cover with microsoft details on it. Now im not sure but shouldnt it be in a green shiny looking packet as seen on the website?I have told OcUk that im sending the software back to them as i believe that it has been opened and either want a refund or a new package to be sent again. Im still waiting for their reply.

Any suggestions on this?

Thanks

Put it this way, if it even looks like it has been opened don't touch it!!! If it is the OEM version then expect no shiny packaging

The OEM is a plastic DVD case, with a manual, CD, and a cardboard sleeve around it.

My OEM was in a clear dvd box and it had MS stickers around the opening to prevent the box being opened. I had to cut these to get the dvd out, if your box opens then someone has probably loaded your copy onto their pc, send it back if that is the case.

Thanks for the quick replies, yes its an OEM version so that clears the green shiny box issue. I can see the re-application of the seal on the dvd (one side of seal is diagonally placed), i dont want to take any chances, just wanted some opinions. Its going back alright!!

Better safe than sorry - YOu dont want to be 3 months down the line and MS kick off saying your using a Prirate OS!!!

should've asked who it was delivered to, then go round their house, find out what machine its installed on and take an axe to it!

Yeah - brilliant idea...then get a criminal record, not be able to work again, and have to sell your Pc to eat - Genius!

yeesh i wasnt being serious, but incase you though i was: give me your credit card details then jump off a cliff.

lighten up dude :)

OEM version is just the folder cover with small info on front and dvd disc and Retail version is cover with box include 32/64bits discs and manual. OEM version it put into the white sleeve box with 2 red label each side but if you open then you keep it. I ordered Ultimate x64 OEM via Citylink and it came much fast on time and checked -- it all prefer..

by Citylink delivery then you can check who sign it - it can show on Citylink website delivery status that how I usual check.

Someone called NUBIR signed for the package. Dont know anyone by that name in the neighbourhood. Im still waiting for the OCUK people to reply me back. Dont know how to send it back, by that i mean do i need some sort of a covering letter or RMA number.

Unlucky obviously Citylinks fault on this occasion. Don't worry about the apperance of the box as its OEM. I bought it and its exactly as you described. Though mine had not been tampered wit
