I have had to give up on the Vista sleep mode as it is simply to problematic on my Desktop e.g. sometimes it wakes up without a problem and other times it simply won't wake up. I have set the BIOS back to POS1 from STR3 and am using Hibernate instead. This option works very well and is only marginally slower on re-starting than Sleep. The only fly in the ointment is that I cannot get it to Hibernate automatically using the Power Management options. In advanced settings I have altered the Hibernate option where it says NEVER to Hibernate after a set period. Although the monitor goes off every time the base unit never switches off. I have also unticked the option in Network adaptor to "allow this device to wake computer up" as it had a few times when attempting to renew IP address. Anyone any ideas as to why it wont Hibernate automatically?
