Vista ...error in the licensing protocol

Got someone on windows vista who is getting the following error when they try to connect to their remote desktop at work (she is working from home)

"the remote computer disconnected the session due to an error in the licensing protocol"

Any ideas?

is the computer she is connecting to vista as well? When she brings up the remote desktop connect window get her to click the advanced tab and check the server authentication settings

She's on Vista, the server she is trying to connect to is on Server 2003 and the PC in her office ix XP.

Apparently it has worked before but it's not working now. She said something about maybe the license has expired.

Turns out she is not connecting to her desktop machine at work she is connecting to the server.

ok are you sure it's not a vpn cert that's expired? tbh it would be best to contact the it department
