Vista file copy problem

Hi guys,

Just trying to organise my PC. Copying a bunch of images (1Gb worth) into 'My Pictures'.

But it wont go - it says there is not enough space and I need an extra 987Mb of space. Yet none of my hard drives are any more than 50% full?

Is there some sort of maximum profile size or something?

How many GBs is the profile?
I've never heard of anything like this.

Perhaps you could try something like SyncToy and see if that will copy them

No, are you sure you have access to the folder you are writing to? Is it in another's profile or your own?

are you sure you haven't been mucking around with disk quotas?

I've bumped into this issue before, this is how I did it...


C: (40gb)

'Videos' was moved/mapped to

D:\Videos (300gb free)

I attmpted to copy 60gb of files into 'My Documents\Videos' -which should go directly into D:\Videos (and it does)

But it gave me a free space issue.. very weird.


In the end I just used robocopy to do it


Could this be linked to your issue?



Also, you're not extracing for a zip/rar/7z file with winrar to a folder are you?
