Vista Installation help.

Hi guys just got vista this morning.

When I try installing vista, it keeps giving me the notice " Windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation "

What does this mean?

Specs:
eVGA 680i Motherboard
X6800
4GB ram
88GTX SLI
Hard drive used: 2 x 500GB seagate 7200.10/7200.11

It also gives another notice saying " This comps hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disks controller is enabled in the bios menu " How do I check if its enabled?

Are you using the 2HDs ina Raid?
If so it will want drivers for the raid controller.

Not a lot of help i know,but its all i can think of till i had some coffee

Nope, not raid, individual HDD. I did nothing to the BIOS setup at all besides increasing ram voltage. No idea why vista won't install. Help please.

It suddenly worked lol. I just load defaults in bios and up ram volt again etc and it worked...

weird...

Now im getting BSOD

It says IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Any idea?

OK do you need to up the volts on the ram?
Are you overclocking it?

That could mean, more volts to the cpu/ram. Try cpu first.

Ok have increased cpu volt to 1.325 lets see if it works now

I remember going 4GB needs to increase ram volt and another type of volt, I forgot what it is.

Anyone have any idea? Incase it isn't the CPU thats causing the crash.

Theres seirously something wrong.

I am on the stage " completing installation "

And now it just stops and not progressing at all.

My screen is all blank, just showing "-" on the top left corner of my screen.

If you are overclocking..then put it all to default settings then install the OS
then overclock it.

Or take out 2 sticks of ram

Yea I did put it all to default. the only thing that changed is the volt for cpu/ram. and boot priority.

is there a known problem with vista + 4gb when used on P23 BIOS revision for the board?

I will update BIOS first, then if it still crashes, I will take 1 stick of memory out, or use my 2GB set. To see if its RAM problem.

I havent updated bios, but I switched RAM.

And now my screen pc isnt even booting, it keeps showing 23 error code. What error is this?

One stick at a time in the same slot should sort it
And i would not do a bios update till you have got it running ok just incase it fails.
