Anyone know how to get Vista Media Centre to display the contents of the Videos section in a list-type view, as is available in Recorded TV?

The standard icon style view is a total nightmare.

Sorry I don't follow you, what do you mean exactly?

I've now found the option to show List View in Recorded TV and this is exactly what I'm after but I can't find any option to show Videos in the same way.

There is a method of altering the views in the reg. For instance, changing the DVD libray to a gallery layout (showing the front cover art). I wondered if the same was true of the other media types.

To do this, run "regedit" and navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Settings\DvdSettings and change the "ShowGallery" value to "Gallery."

What exactly are you listing as there are nice add ins for VMC that do a much better job of sorting your video files.

Just want a listing which majors more on the title of the file (with or without a small thumbnail image) rather than the current Vista system which seems to show just the thumbnail with no text at all until you highlight it, meaning you have to scroll around all over the place to find the one you want, especially when you have episodes of a series where the thumbnail won't tell you what it actually is.

I use this for sorting out my TV series, absolutely brilliant!

And if you have any movies

Do these plugins fit in with the microsoft theme and feel....

....because i remember trying some plugins for XPMCE and it just didn't fell right using them....i think they were just html pages....is it the same for VMC or do they actually have a plugin api?
