Vista / .NET Framework 3.0 sites

Hmm I get a dialog box saying "XAML Browser Application".

What do I do? Save it, or open it with something? I tried opening it with "Windows Presentation Foundation something or other" but it loads a million untitled tabs. :(

Must be doing something wrong.

Should I remove .NET 2.0 before installing 3.0?

And why is 1.1 still available?
Different .NET versions can be installed side-by-side. So don't worry about it.

.NET 1.1 applications will need the 1.1 runtime. 2.0 apps' need the 2.0 runtime. 3.0 app's need the 3.0 runtime, etc.

Definately keep 2.0 installed as far more software uses that at the moment. 3.0 only came out a couple months back.

You should keep all three installed (although installing 3.0 will also install 2.0 because it's really just a few extras on top of the old version)

Welcome to WPF ("Avalon") :)

HTML/CSS will be obsolete soon enough :D
If you can live with each page taking up 355mb of RAM (just for the module, not including the browser), then that's fine :P

Seriously, by the time this sort of thing's the norm, we'll all have überbytes of RAM, so probably won't be a problem - it'll also be fair to say the coding won't be overly optimised as of now. And it does look very, very funky! :D

Of course, making taking away the exclusivity to IE/MS would be a nice start to popularity ;)

did you install anything to get the pages to load?, running vista and just getting a page telling me how many bytes have been loaded (which never goes above 0)

Heard of WPF/E? :) WPF is coming to OSX and mobile phones... A CTP beta was released just recently too.

It is inevitable. HTML/CSS has been stagnant for years - it's going no where.

PS: What's all the memory usage crap you made up about?
