Vista networking slow after SP1

Before installing SP1 I played around with my network settings to try and boost the speeds. Now with SP1 installed and the problem fixed I'm still getting slow transfer speeds over my LAN. I get max of about 5MB/sec.

I think it might be because I played around with the network settings but now I don't know what settings they were

Is there anyway I can reset all my network stuff back to defaults?

Your lucky I get about 800kb which is a pain when backing up my iTunes folder. Try turning off remote compression - which I have done, it might work for you.

I tried that but nothing. I think a full re-install with SP1 installed straight after could be worthwhile.

you could try reinstalling TCP/IP if you can with Vista, worth a try before a full vista restore, otherwise do you have system restore turned on, roll back?

My vista with SP1 does 10MB second over LAN (Max), much better than pre sp1.
