Ok so I've just bought another 2GB of RAM from OCUK to add to the 2GB that was already in my system. I'm using Vista x64 Ultimate, so this isn't the 4GB 32-bit problem.

Everything went fine, BIOS reports that there's 4GB RAM running in Dual Channel mode, however Vista only reports that there's 3199MB of RAM for some reason.

Any ideas why this is?

That looks very like the 32bit issue (which limits you to 3.2gig of installed ram), are you sure you've not got 64bit support turned off somewhere...

Nah mate, under where it says the amount of RAM it also says "System type - 64 bit operating system"

I think the problem isn't with Vista though, because when the system is POSTing it displays only 3200MB RAM before booting, although if I actually go into the BIOS it reports 4GB =/

I've updated the BIOS to the latest version, however in doing so I noticed on the website for my mainboard (ASRock ConRoeXFire-eSATA2) it says "Due to the chipset limitation, the actual memory size may be less than 4GB for the reservation for system usage under Windows® XP, Windows® XP 64-bit, Windows® Vista™ and Windows® Vista™ 64-bit."

So I'm guessing I may be out of luck?
