Vista repair function?

As in Xp you press R and it will reinstall your OS and keep the data on there.

Is there a function on Vista, im running a PC with Vista Ultimate and the board has just gone up in smoke. Repaced and now it doesnt boot. (i expected that tbh)

Any help much appriaciated.

Put the Vista DVD back in and run repair from that?

I did it when I had issues, although it didn't fix my problem

yeah, but its not the same as the repair function of XP. I need it to reinstall basicly over the top as XP did

tried just telling it to reinstall on the same partition rarther than trying to run the repair function?
